On December 28, 2024, Guo Yong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, led a delegation to visit the Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua University ("S-EIRI"). They met with the S-EIRI's management team for discussions.

After receiving reports on the S-EIRI's status, Guo Yong highly commended its progress and achievements. He remarked that the S-EIRI, centered on the field of energy internet, has established a distinctive development model. Firstly, leveraging Tsinghua's Department of Electrical Engineering, it has built an interdisciplinary platform connecting various university departments, providing crucial support for the university's disciplinary development and talent cultivation. Secondly, based in Sichuan, S-EIRI serves the western region while extending its reach nationwide, significantly broadening the university's influence. Thirdly, by focusing on independent research, it enhances its research competitiveness and technology commercialization capabilities, making important contributions to local socio-economic development. Guo Yong emphasized that the university plans to leverage the S-EIRI to further deepen and solidify its cooperation with Sichuan Province. He expressed hope that the Institute would align with the university's overall strategy and utilize its geographical advantages to contribute further to major national strategic projects. He affirmed that the university will continue to provide robust support and services to the S-EIRI.

He outlined the S-EIRI's accomplishments since its establishment in talent recruitment, technological innovation, and research commercialization, along with its strategic plans for the future.
