On November 24, 2024, Li Luming, Deputy Party Secretary, President of Tsinghua University, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited SC-EIRI for investigation and research, and had exchanges with SC-EIRI leading staff and department heads. Chen Lizhang, Deputy Party Secretary of Sichuan Tianfu New Area and Director of the Administrative Committee, accompanied the guests for investigation and research.

At the conference, Kang Chongqing, Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University and Dean of SC-EIRI made detailed report upon the achievements and future development plans of SC-EIRI in aspects such as talents gathering, sci-tech innovation and achievements transformation since the establishment. Kang Chongqing expressed that SC-EIRI would continuously stick to the concept of "originating from Tsinghua, taking roots in Sichuan, serving the whole country, and going international", and strive to create a "three-pillar" business system of sci-tech innovation, industrial development and experiment & test, and endeavor to become an important window for Tsinghua University to serve West China through organized R&D model to deeply serve national major projects and strategic needs on one hand and continuous acceleration of internationalization pace to provide supports for the "Belt and Road" development strategy on the other hand.

Work Progress Report of SC-EIRI by Kang Chongqing

After listening to the report, President Li Luming expressed thanks to Tianfu New Area for its support to SC-EIRI, and recognition to SC-EIRI staff for their hard work and achievements. President Li Luming stressed that Tsinghua University had always taken serving the country as its highest pursuit, taken discipline building as its development foundation, and constantly optimized discipline layout orientated towards sci-tech frontiers and national needs. As the core issue of economic transformation and carbon neutrality, energy is an important part of Tsinghua University's discipline building. The investigation and research this time had brought new ideas for exploring the new model of high-quality development of the university's engineering discipline. It's expected that SC-EIRI, as an important window for the university to serve West China, would produce more innovative achievements closely related to national development needs. Tsinghua University would continue to deeply implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC, optimize resources allocation and fully stimulate vitality in deepening reform and innovation, continuously strengthen the tackling of key core technologies and the transformation of sci-tech achievements combining the industrial development needs of Sichuan province, and effectively make greater contributions to the building of a world-class university with Chinese characteristics and the high-quality economic and social development of Sichuan Province.

Director Chen Lizhang expressed thanks to Tsinghua University in his speech for its attention and support to Tianfu New Area and SC-EIRI, and deep recognition to SC-EIRI for its achievements in aspects such as talents gathering, technologies tackling and achievements transformation. Director Chen Lizhang pointed out that the team of SC-EIRI was pragmatic and enterprising, and had made obvious achievements, which profoundly interpreted the motto of "Self-discipline and Social Commitment" and the spirit of "Actions Speak Louder Than Words", and added glory to the century-old brand of Tsinghua University. Director Chen Lizhang expressed that Tianfu New Area would work closely with Tsinghua University to jointly promote the construction of industrial parks and achievements transformation projects. He hoped that Tsinghua University would enhance its support to SC-EIRI and make SC-EIRI an achievement transformation platform for the university to serve West China.
