SC-EIRI Co-hosted the 6th Energy Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit (EIIES) and 2024 World Electrical Engineering Technology and Development Forum (WEETDF)

On November 16, 2024, guided by Tsinghua University and the Office of China-Europe Energy Technology Innovation Cooperation, hosted by Chinese Electrotechnical Society, Office of Domestic Cooperation of Tsinghua University, New Economy Bureau of Tianfu New Area, Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University and SC-EIRI, and organized by Energy Internet International Innovation Center, the 6th Energy Internet Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit (EIIES) and 2024 World Electrical Engineering Technology and Development Forum(WEETDF) was successfully held in Chengdu.

Site of the Event


With the theme of "Developing New Quality Productivity in Energy Sector, Accelerating Global Energy Carbon Neutrality", the event gathered more than 400 local government leaders, energy experts, scholars from universities and institutions, heads of industry enterprises, and representatives of financial investment institutions through forms such as guest speeches, releasing & signing, keynote reports and theme forums in order to jointly seek global energy transformation and build a clean and beautiful world.


Deng Chao, Party Group Member of Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission and Director of Sichuan Provincial Energy Administration, Han Jingyang, Deputy President of Tsinghua Alumni Association, and Han Yi, Secretary General of Chinese Electrotechnical Society, successively made speeches for the Summit. In the releasing & signing part, Liu Yi, Deputy Dean of SC-EIRI, released the industrial cooperation plan with the theme of "Make Deep Integration of Sci-tech Industry Innovation and Accelerate the Development of New Quality Productivity". SC-EIRI respectively signed cooperation agreements with PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited, China Three Gorges Corporation Wuhan Sci-tech Innovation Park and Sichuan Aizhong Development Group Co., Ltd., in order to further strengthen the deep integration of industry, university, research and application, and jointly promote the high-quality development of green and low-carbon industries.


Antonio Gomez-Exposito, IEEE Fellow and Chair Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering of University of Seville in Spain, gave a special report with the topic of "Can distributed PV become the backbone of power systems?", and presented the latest research achievements of international academic community in the fields of power system analysis and renewable energy integration.

Subsequently, Qu Ronghai, IEEE Fellow and Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Dong Wei, Director of Technology Center of Chengdu Customs, Xiao Xianyong, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering of Sichuan University, and Lu Zongxiang, Standing Deputy Dean of SC-EIRI, respectively delivered keynote reports with the topics of "Opportunities and Challenges of Motor System in Aviation Electrification and Low-altitude Economy", "Challenges and Opportunities of International Green Trade in the New Situation", "Thoughts on the Large Model of Power Distribution System Disturbance", "Preliminary Study on the Technical Path of Building New Regional Power Systems in the Context of Climate Change". Through the keynote reports, the speakers interpreted the current new trends and new systems in the field of energy power.


In order to further promote globally academic exchanges and cooperation, iEnergy, the English international academic journal with open access hosted by Tsinghua University and organized by the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, appointed Professor Antonio Gomez-Exposito as the Consultant Member, and Qu Ronghai, Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Ding Liming, Research Fellow of National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, as the Deputy Editor-in-chief. He Jinliang, Editor-in-chief of iEnergy and Professor of Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University, presented the letters of appointment to three appointed experts at the summit.


Based on cutting-edge technology orientation and broad international vision, the summit simultaneously held five parallel theme forums. Focusing on themes such as "New Power Systems and Power Electronics", "International Green Trade Barriers and Countermeasures", "Green Motor System and Control", "Smart Water Network and Watershed Security" and "iEnergy Power Energy Academic Frontier", these forums built open, sharing, cooperative and innovative dialogue platforms, and deeply discussed the opportunities and challenges faced by the energy field and future development potentials in the context of carbon peaking & carbon neutrality goals.


The summit gave full play to the synergistic and resonance effects of sci-tech innovation and market allocation, and intensively displayed China's cutting-edge achievements in the fields of energy Internet and electrical engineering from diversified aspects such as forward-looking ideas, theoretical building and market practice, which has contributed solid strength to the development of new quality productivity in energy sector and the transformation of global energy.
